Bring a friend along for a fairytale morning with member Angela Weber during an English-language “Duchess Tour” of the beautiful Ludwigsburg Palace on October 13th.
Ludwigsburg Residential Palace (Residenzschloss Ludwigsburg) is one of the largest Baroque buildings in Europe to survive in its original condition. This extravagant complex stands out not just for its impressive size, but also for its opulent interiors. Another feature is the unique blend of three quite different architectural styles: Baroque, Rococo and Neoclassicism.
The one-hour tour of Ludwigsburg Residential Palace commences in the apartments of Eberhard Ludwig and then makes its way to the Game Pavilion, the New Palace Wing, the Royal Chapel and Theatre and ends in the Ancestral Portrait Gallery.
We will meet at 10:00 at the Schloss Strasse entrance (see below) and and the one hour tour will start promptly at 10:30
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT THE LOCATION
Currently the only free entrance to the Ludwigsburg Residential Palace tour is via Schloss Strasse (the “side” entrance along the B27). All other entrances require a ticket for Blühendes Barock, which is not included in our tour.
Parking is available at the Bärenwiese and the Untere Stadt car park for a fee. Discounted parking is possible at Schlossgarage/Marstallcenter if you have your parking ticket stamped at the entrance.
The Palace is advertised as barrier-free and wheelchairs are available at the ticket office. A maximum of 20 people can attend, so see below to RSVP as soon as possible.
CORONAVIRUS SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
As of the date of this post, this tour requires social distancing, contact data collection, masks for 6 and up, and proof of 3G for adults (vaccination, recovery, or a negative test in the prior 24 hours).
Please note that as a club we will also be keeping a list of members in attendance and collecting contact data for guests belonging to non-member households.

The cost of this event is €5 per person, paid in advance. The remainder of the tour costs will be sponsored by the IWCS and this is a Round Up For Charity event. All proceeds will benefit Frauen helfen Frauen.

To confirm your reservation, please transfer the €5 per person to the IWCS bank account no later than Monday, October 11th. If you have any extenuating circumstances that keep you from getting the funds to us by that date, please speak directly with the host so we don’t assume you are no longer interested.
Prepayments are non-refundable after the payment deadline. Members who have to cancel at the last minute are welcome to find another member or guest to send in their place.
