EVENT DETAILS

The “WEITBLICKWEG” is a special walking trail  in the middle of the vineyards above Hohenhaslach (approx. 30 km north of Stuttgart). The sculptures from Tübingen artist Martin Burchard stimulate all the senses against the gorgeous backdrop of the surrounding Stromberg-Heuchelberg nature park. It is a meditative walk that invites us to slow down and think about the central questions of life.

Getting to the trail via public transportation will be part of the fun (because wine tasting!). See all the details further down in this blog post. Those who would prefer to drive to the starting point of the trail can meet the group at a car park along the way.

Alison will lead the group along the Weitblickweg trail for approximately four kilometers, experiencing four of the art stations along the way. The reward for all of that walking will be the panoramic view from the vineyards of Familie Weiberle and a wine tasting that includes five wines, finger food, mineral water, and Traubensaft.

THIS IS A +1 EVENT, WHICH MEANS:

    • Any IWCS member plus one guest are welcome to attend.
    • Your +1 can be a partner, spouse, adult child, or friend (18+)
    • You and your guest each pay the member cost listed below.

The cost of the walk & wine tasting is €15 per person, paid in advance. The remainder of the costs will be sponsored by the IWCS and this is a Round Up For Charity event (a donation is included in your prepayment). All proceeds will benefit the Frauenhaus of Stuttgart.

There are 20 spaces available. To reserve your spot, please RSVP in the pending Facebook event, or use the form below if you are not on Facebook. To confirm your reservation, please transfer the  €15 per person to the IWCS bank account to arrive no later than April 30th . If you have any extenuating circumstances that keep you from getting the funds to us by that date, please speak directly with the host so we don’t assume you are no longer interested.

Prepayments are non-refundable after the payment deadline. Members who have to cancel at the last minute are welcome to find another member or guest to send in their place.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The four kilometer trail is mostly paved but most of the walking is uphill. Don’t forget supportive footwear, something to drink, sunscreen, and clothing for whatever Mother Nature throws at us. Eat a good breakfast!

There are no public toilets near the car park or along the walking trail. There is a public toilet at the train station in Bietigheim.

If you wish to to join the public transport group, be sure to choose the destination “Hohenhaslach Steige” and arrival time of 10:54 when purchasing your VVS ticket. You will be routed through the Bietigheim Bahnhof where Alison will be waiting to take everyone to bus 567 leaving at 10:32.

After the bus ride part of the journey, the public transport group will walk 15-20 minutes up into the vineyards to the parking lot to meet up with anyone coming by car.  Those who are driving should be at the car park at Kelterplatz 11, Hohenhaslach, no later than 11:15.

After the wine tasting it’s about 20 minutes downhill to the car park and then another 10 minutes to the bus stop.
