If there is one thing our members love, it’s wine! So how about a sparkling wine tasting?
ABOUT THIS EVENT
Do you know what makes Prosecco different from Champagne or Sekt from Cava? Join member Heather Tfor a tasting of four different types of sparkling wine. She holds the WSET® Level Three Award in Wines, and has been studying wine for five years (and enjoying it for a lot longer!).
Heather will explain how they are made, what makes each one unique, and offer food pairing tips. Both the wine and some small bites to complement them will be provided.
This event is a charity fundraiser and 100% of your prepayment of €20 will be added to our Frauenhaus collection for 2022. Please write “Spende Wine Tasting” in the notes section of your bank transfer if you plan to deduct the donation on your German taxes.

To reserve your spot, please respond in the private Facebook event (or use the form below if you aren’t on Facebook). To confirm your reservation, please transfer the €20 per person to the IWCS bank account no later than Thursday, June 23rd (see the comment above about what to write in the notes section). If you have any extenuating circumstances that keep you from getting the funds to us by that date, please speak directly with the host so we don’t assume you are no longer interested.
Prepayments are non-refundable after the payment deadline. Members who have to cancel at the last minute are welcome to find another member or guest to send in their place.
IWCS 2020 HOLIDAY GIVING TREE FOR FRAUEN HELFEN FRAUEN
In keeping with one of our favorite annual traditions, the IWCS is once again supporting Frauen helfen Frauen e.V. by creating a virtual Holiday Gift Tree for its residents this December!
Every year our members can sign up to buy gifts for the women and children living in the Frauenhaus. You will receive one woman’s age/wishes or the age/gender/wishes of a child to assist you in choosing what to buy. If you would like to take part, please let Sandra know in the event that can be found in the private Facebook event OR by using the RSVP form at the end of this post if you are not on Facebook.
We already have some ages and wishes, so you can go ahead and start shopping! We do not yet know how many people we need, so we will assign folks on a first-come, first-serve basis.
🎁Please choose a gift valued between €15-20 (the children’s wishes might be higher than €20, but usually not more than €30) and try to keep in mind that the shelter is multicultural and many of the families might not yet have strong German skills.
🎁Wrap the gift up all festive and add a tag with the age/gender information you were given to identify who it is for when they distribute the gifts.
🎁Drop the finished gift off at Sandra’s house in Stuttgart-Zazenhausen or mail it to her.

AGM 2020 – Bring Your Spare Change for Charity!
Let us help you declutter your purses and pockets with our annual AGM coin collection!
Every year we ask members attending the Annual Meeting to bring along their excess change for our collection for Frauen helfen Frauen.
Check your pockets, your wallets and your junk drawers and bring all those annoying and useless little one and two cent coins (and higher!) with you to the AGM and help us make a difference for the ladies at the Frauenhaus.
MEMBERS ONLY: INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY WALK & COFFEE
Annual International Women’s Day takes place this year on Sunday, March 8th! We would like to celebrate the international women in our group with a “Women Inspiring Women” walk & talk.
Members are invited to join us at 13:30 in Stuttgart-Feuerbach for a guided walk through the nearby woods, stopping at one point to enjoy a spectacular view and a glass of Sekt. Please bring along five facts about a woman who has inspired you and we will share with each other as we walk.
We’ll end our walk with cake, coffee and conversation at the home of one of our members.
The walk will take about 90 minutes and does include a few hills, but all on pavement or well-maintained dirt road. Dress for walking and weather, but if it is too nasty out, we will stay in and enjoy refreshments.
This event is for IWCS members only. While there is no cost you are invited to make a voluntary contribution to our Frauen Helfen Frauen charity at the event.
