NEW IWCS COMMUNITY – LOOKING AT ART IN THE MODERN WORLD

We are so pleased to announce the birth of a new IWC Stuttgart community!

Have you ever been walking or driving along and spotted a piece of art in the wild, perhaps in the middle of a roundabout, during a walk in the vineyards, or around a lake and wondered how it came to be there, who the artist is and what the connection to its surroundings is? If so, you are not alone and will enjoy being a part of this community!

The inspiration for this community began with an artist called Peter Lenk. After enjoying at his public sculptures on Lake Constance (Bodensee) for many years, we were inspired to find out more when one of his sculptures arrived in Stuttgart. So began a series of ideas for looking and talking about art in the modern world around us.

This group will arrange visits to exhibitions and sculpture parks as well as hold discussions on related topics – the last discussion topic was graffiti. None of us are experts but we share an interest in art and a curiosity to find out more.

Joining the IWCS interest communities can help build stronger networks and friendships within this club. We are such a diverse group of ladies with so much experience to share – this is one way to get the most out of it.

We look forward to welcoming you to this new community. Please join our Facebook group and watch for community events starting in the April newsletter!
